1. Kabuli channa / garbanzo beans / chickpeas / Kabul kadale kaalu  1/2 cup (soaked for 8 hours in 1 cup of water)
2. Carrot gratings, packed, 1/4 cup
3. Cucumber, chopped, 1/4 cup
4. Tomato, chopped, 1/4 cup
5. Onion, chopped, 2 tablespoons
6. Groundnuts, roasted, 1 tablespoon
7. Coconut gratings 1 tablespoon
8. Roasted jeera powder 1/4 teaspoon
9. Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
10. Dry mango powder 1/2 teaspoon
11. Coriander leaves, chopped, few sprigs
12. Salt to taste

How to make Channa Chat?

1. Drain the water water used for soaking the channa.
2. Add channa and 3/4 cup of water to a pressure cooker.

Pressure cook for 2 whistles on a low flame.

Remove the lid when there is no pressure.

Add 1/4 tsp. of salt and cook for about 2 minutes.

Strain. Keep aside the channa to cool.

Do not discard the stalk. Instead, use it to make chapati or roti dough or in sambars, because it contains nutrients.
3. Add all the items to a bowl.
