1. Clean and wash mung beans / pachai payaru / hesaru kaalu / pesalu.

Drain the water.

Soak the moong in water for 8-10 hours.

Drain the water.  Wash again.

Drain the water completely.

Cover the utensil with a plate or cotton cloth.

Set aside the utensil for 10-12 hours or until the mung sprouts.

Remove the plate / cloth.

Moong sprouts are ready.

TIPS How to sprout mung beans?
1. Do not cover the utensil, in Step 3, tightly, because some air is required to enter the utensil for the sprouting to take place.

Use a net-type lid, if available, to cover the utensil.
