2. Moong dal / mung dal / hesaru bele / pesara pappu / paasi paruppu 1/2 cup

4. Mustard 1/2 teaspoon
5. Curry leaves 2 sprigs
6. Cumin / Jeera 1 teaspoon
7. Hing / asafoetida few pinches
8. Turmeric 1/4 teaspoon
9. Garlic cloves, chopped, 5-6

10. Green chilies 4-5 or to taste
11. Ginger, chopped, 1/2 teaspoon
12. Tomatoes 2-3
13. Green beans 8-10
14. Carrots 2

15. Peas 1/4 cup
16. Capsicum 1
17. Water 5 cups
18. Salt to taste
19. Lemon juice to taste
20. Coriander leaves, chopped

How to make Dal Khichdi?


1. Wash rice and moong dal in a pressure cooker.

Add about 4 cups of water. Keep aside for 20-30 minutes.

3. Add vegetables, chilies and turmeric to the pressure cooker.

Cook till the cooker whistles twice.

7. Add chopped ginger and garlic.

Fry till the garlic becomes golden brown.

Mix.

9. Add one cup of water and salt.

Bring to boil.
10. Add the rice-moong dal-vegetable mixture.

Mix.
