Drumstick / munakkaya / nuggekayi 3-4
2. Oil 2-3 teaspoons
3. Curry leaves 1 sprig
4. Onion, chopped, 1 big
5. Tomatoes, chopped, 2
6. Potato, cooked, 1 big
7. Sambar powder 1 teaspoon
8. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
9. Coriander leaves
10. Coconut gratings 1 tablespoon
11. Salt to taste

How to make Drumstick Curry?

1. Wash the drumsticks.

Trim both the ends.

Cut each drumstick into about 6-inch long pieces.

Make three slits, at the three junctions on the surface of one end of a piece, to make three parts.

Hold a part and pull it. Repeat this process for other parts.

Remove the seeds if any, from each part, and set aside.

Place a piece on a cutting board. Hold the piece at one end with one hand. Scrape the pulp with a sharp-edged spoon with the other hand.  Repeat the above process for all the drumstick pieces.

Mash the potato.

Fry 2-3 minutes.

Add sambar powder and turmeric.

Fry for a minute.

7. Add drumstick seeds and pulp. Mix.

Fry for a minute.

Add potato, salt and water. Mix.

Cook till the pulp becomes soft.

8. Add coconut gratings and coriander leaves.

Simmer for a few minutes.
