1. Dried coconut / fresh coconut pieces 1/3 cup
2. Toor dal dal 1 tablespoon
3. Curry leaves 1 sprig
4. Dried red chillies 2
5. Tamarind small piece
6. Salt to taste

How to make Toor Dal Chutney?

1. Dry fry toor dal, red chillies, and curry leaves, till the toor dal turns to golden brown.

Keep aside to cool.

2. Add dry coconut pieces, tamarind, salt and fried ingredients to a mixer jar.

Dry grind to a coarse powder.

3. Add water and grind to a paste.

TIPS Toor Dal Chutney
1. Use green chillies in case you do not have red chilies.
2. You will have to add more water while grinding, because the fried toor dal consumes much water.
