I am Sandya Kumar, the chief chef of this website and a housewife. I am a BSc. graduate and also a writer and photographer.  I and my family are vegetarians, and we live in Bangalore. I have been cooking vegetarian dishes, particularly south Indian veg food, since more than 15 years. Through southindianvegrecipes.com, I aim to share the Indian vegetarian recipes with you.

Preparing steam-cooked food is one of the areas of my cooking experience.  As steaming is considered to be healthy, I have given emphasis for this method of cooking with an exclusive section for it.  Do check it out for recipes for steam cooked cuisines.

To make cooking south Indian vegetarian food a simple task, I have given the cooking method in steps and in a straightforward way.

Wherever possible, I have given cooking tips that would be answers to common questions or would give more insight into preparing a dish.
